Two old buggas ahead with sticks (again)

It's been a great day in paradise (again) as we paddled 25km from Thomas' Island (at least he thinks it's his) to Coconut Bay on Linderman Is. Beautiful rock formations to explore, and some really interesting firsts, like Terry catching a shark with his bare hands (it was 12 inches long), and a turtle to boot. We enjoyed lunch on a reef at low tide before finally carrying our boats up to set up camp. Tomorrow its on to Hamilton for a feed of chips in civilization (although the locals will be in shock coping with the smell of unwashed thermals). Life is good and we are having a ball.

Thomas Island day 2

Woke to another morning not only to the beautiful scenic view, but once again a pod of dolphins with a stunning sunrise. Robin and Peter heard what they think we're whales calling in the early hours. As usual, graced by the beautiful fluttering butterflies. But today's gift was an eagle soaring in the clear blue sky
overhead after we had just snorkeled.
We saw an amazing variety of coral and fish followed by a relaxed afternoon and incredible sunset.

Goldsmith Island

Nice 22 km paddle with 15 to 20 kn winds and following seas made for a quick paddle. The channel provided a lot of fun, nice surf but the bloody whales kept getting in the way!
Photo of Tom and Jeannine fishing at sunset.

Brampton Island

Stopped at Brampton Island for water and to use power to charge Bobs batteries. Looks like a scene from a disaster movie where everyone disappeared instantly leaving the resort to rot and deteriorate. Heading for goldsmith Island tomorrow.

Cockermouth Island day 3

Still here!

Explored more of the island before the rain came and then it stayed all day. Played some beach baseball with helmet, coconut and bat or palm timber, all items found on the beach. Came across an interesting lizard and turtle in the shallows. Jeannine and Robin ate fresh oysters of the rocks.
Weather may be improving, maybe escape this Island tomorrow!

Cockermouth Island rest day

Forecast not great for a few days. Did repairs on Toms sail after wind and a nasty wave snapped his mast clean in two. Explored the island, found a huge clam shell, climbed the hill behind our camp and dipped coconut in melted m&m's. Yum!

Cockermouth Island

Paddled 28 km to Cockermouth Island in testing conditions. Jeannine awarded VHB which stands for Very Honary Bloke! (Outstanding) As Terry said, these conditions are for the big boys. Top speed over 20 kph. The view from the beach, magnificent scenery and not so magnificent scenery!

Scawfell Island

5 am start, sailed 25 km to Scawfell Island. Arrived to find croc slides / tracks near our camp spot. Decided we would not wash our pots in the same spot twice near the waters edge.
Some yachties came ashore and said they made the tracks so we relaxed a little with some going snorkeling. Tom took it easy after receiving a massage from Bob for his sore shoulder.

St.Bees Island

First 30 km crossing went to plan after a 4 am start and a very long portage.
Set up camp and snooze for another early start the next day.
